Spot on, John. Frustrating to watch. I'm amazed how bad the faceoffs have gone. Every PK, lose it, can't clear. Every PP, lose it, have to chase. Sigh.

a small and fast team is gonna beat a big physical team by accepting the agression and punishing them on the powerplay, just like montreal often do when they play boston.

Oh yeah don't forget about faceoffs. Reminds me of th e Bears not addressing the OL year after year. Everybody can see the weakness but the front office.

The hawks were so abused tonight I had flashbacks to the 1997 SCF. Hopefully they bring it game 3.

you're pretty harsh on a team thats been to the cup final twice in 3 years. I can only imagine the bi polar turn when/if chicago wins.

Have you untied the rope from around your neck after that big choke job in round two? Get lost.

Check out the shot chart at the link below. Those three little Xs look lonely in front of Rask vs the plethora of Xs in front and near crow. That tells the story.

I'm sure you were thinking and writing quickly - but no mention of Bolland - ugh!

And Kane - useless in a game like that.

And the PP - 5 guys playing as individuals.

Dominated.

That's it.

Toews....1 goal in 20 games. So if we're going to rip Kane, rip Toews. Guy has been horrible far too often, and when your captain is a ghost, how do other players take getting ripped apart?

Funny this is, Kane and Toews are playing like the Sedin twins...all talk, very few results.

Sharp....feel for this guy. Busting his @ss every shift. Best player outside of Crawford. Hammer and Keith have been good enough.

Stalberg....if he had any skill he nets 2 goals tonight. No hands....and nice job sticking up for Bickell as a 6'9 giant is all over him. What a great teammate.

You aren't beating Boston in Boston without a PP and the Hawks don't have 1. It's excusable. No adjustments...Just bullheaded BS, forcing the same thing that has netted all of......nothing. Boston PP at least produces chances.

Time for Q to call this team out.....it's stars....can't win a cup with no production from the $$ guys. This isn't a February tilt against Columbus. TOo many passengers. Too many soft plays. Nothing to lose if team responds negatively.

That was embarrassing. Nobody went to the net tonight and there forecheck and hitting was obsolete. They played like a bunch of pussies absolutely embarrassing. As much as I support them they won't win anothet game unless they do the things that jj spoke of in the blog i can't believe your hottest player has been left for dead on the third line put Bickell up with toews already. It's not over yet but the fat lady is getting ready. Boys dig deep please !!

That's pretty sad. Their backup could have had a shutout tonight. They played hard, but that chart shows what I thought all game.

JJ while I think we all agree ... is it really prudent to talk about "making a lot of tough decisions" about a team that made SCF when expectations realistically weren't that high to start with?

JJ - What's the word on Hossa? Did he take a puck to the face?

Great call JJ on Kane missing that shot wide. It's either that or the shots go right into Rask's chest.

I really wish the Hawks tried to grab Steve Ott when he was available. He would have been a great fit. Stan/Scotty didn't think so?

Handzus has been fine but he seems overmatched in this series, as do most wearing the Indian Head. Difficult to watch a game that is 1-0, 2-0 and Hawks don't even seem in the game.

Here's hoping they come out with a maximum effort Wednesday night and Hoss is back in the lineup.

Sad response from these guys. Needed a major bounce back game and you get shut out. Nice. This team needs a rebuild. Hockey has gone back to its in the trenches style. Kane is MIA. 6 million a year and you cant get in there Patrick? 19 must be hurt. Even still, hes in there giving effort. Don't know what to say, but if they don't win game 4, its over. This PP, OMFG. Blame Tampon, but that brain child Q hired him after the Cup winning Kings canned him for a schit PP. Guess what Q... the PP still f'n sucks. Done.. not gonna get pissed. Im enjoying the finals but damn this sucks.

This was painful to watch. The PP was absolutely brutal, and I am being kind.

What exactly happened to Hossa in the warm ups? Was he hit by a puck?
